The Decline of God in America

Gallup has completed a poll on what religion Americans affiliate with and the winner?
“PRINCETON, NJ — This time of year provides an opportunity to answer frequently asked questions about exactly where America stands today in regard to religion, based on Gallup’s extensive archives.
Christmas is obviously a Christian holiday. But what percentage of Americans today identify [...]

Poll: Military Families - Bush Sucks?

Really!
“WASHINGTON — Families with ties to the military, long a reliable source of support for wartime presidents, disapprove of President Bush and his handling of the war in Iraq, with a majority concluding the invasion was not worth it, a Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll has found.
The views of the military community, which includes active-duty service [...]

WAPO Poll - Democrats are sad

The WAPO slides in a heavily Democrat weighted poll and guess what?
They’re miserable.
What a surprise. With Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, Patrick Leahy and other “kill joys” leading their charge who wouldn’t be depressed.
UPDATE: Mark Tapscott takes the poll apart, it’s the game of numbers.

When polls are meaningless

I can buy that the American public is tilting more towards voting for Democrats, but when a poll - even Gallup - shows that Americans polled trust Dems more than Reps on national security issues I have ask:
What in the hell were these people sniffing in the 90s?

The Comeback Kid?

Don’t look now, but Bush’s poll numbers are rising.
“President Bush’s firm position on Iraq has firmed up his Job Approval numbers. For the fourth straight day, 39% of Americans say they approve of the way the President his performing his job. That‚Äôs up three percentage points from the ratings before the President‚Äôs press conference last [...]

The numbers from 2004 and 2006…

Folks, if we’re going to talk about whether or not the GOP will get killed, we need to look over the political terrain.¬† Perhaps the two best snapshots are the exit polls from the last two elections - the 2004 Presidential race and the 2006 midterms.
There were three major shifts that I can see in [...]

Who’s the outlier?

AJ-Strata has dug up some interesting data that seems to vindicate Ed Goeas.
Three more polls showing that the conservative opposition is a minority.¬† The most interesting poll is CNN’s.¬† From CNN’s article:
A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll released Monday showed 47 percent of Americans opposed the bill, while 30 percent supported it and 19 percent said [...]

Again, not good news for the immigration bill from the people.
“Americans give both President Bush and the Congress failing marks on their handling of immigration, according to a new UPI/Zogby poll on the topic.
The Zogby Interactive poll of 8,300 adults nationwide finds just 3% of Americans viewing Congress’s handling of the immigration issue in favorable [...]

What can you say about Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi? After a scant six months they’ve already set a record! Gallup has some new numbers on how Americans view congress!
“Just 14% of Americans have a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in Congress.
This 14% Congressional confidence rating is the all-time low [...]

Something is wrong here.
“A strong majority of Americans ‚Äî including nearly two-thirds of Republicans ‚Äî favor allowing illegal immigrants to become citizens if they pay fines, learn English and meet other requirements, a new Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll has found.
That is a striking show of support for a primary element of an immigration overhaul bill [...]
