Ann Coulter is right

Ann sure knows how to get a rise out of the left and moderates inbetween. Her latest happened during a interview with Donny Deutsch’s NOBOBY watches CNBC show “The Big Idea”. How anyone caught this show is anyone’s guess because outside the twenty or so they have in the audience I don’t think anyone else is watching. Nevertheless apparantly Deutsch, who has attacked the Christian right on numerous occassions tried to bate Coulter and she gave it back to him - and good.
“Slash-and-burn columnist Ann Coulter shocked a cable TV talk-show audience Monday when she declared that Jews need to be “perfected” by becoming Christians, and that America would be better off if everyone were Christian.
Coulter made the remarkable statements during an often heated appearance to promote her new book on advertising guru Donny Deutsch’s CNBC show “The Big Idea.”
In response to a question from Deutsch asking Coulter if “it would be better if we were all Christian,” the controversial columnist responded: “Yes.”
“We should all be Christian?” Deutsch repeated.
“Yes,” Coulter responded, asking Deutsch, who is Jewish, if he would like to “come to church with me.”
Deutsch, pressing Coulter further, asked, “We should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians?” She responded: “Yeah.”
Coulter deflected Deutsch’s assertion that her comments were anti-Semitic, matter-of-factly telling the show’s obviously upset host, “That is what Christians consider themselves: perfected Jews.”
Here’s the video:
On substance she’s right as this is Christian doctrine, and before some lefty gives me the “tolerance” speech, save it.
Jesus Christ used similar direct language towards the jews of his day. Sweetness and Light also refers to the New Testament Book of Hebrews in the which the basic theme is the superority of the New Covenant and Christ who ushered it in versus the Old Covenant given to the Jews. The point of the book is that the new has replaced the former, thus Ann is right, Judiasm - at least according to Christian doctine is no longer valid.
Christianity is an exclusive belief and it’s founded referred to as such. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except by me” (John 14:6). There was no tolerance or allowance in his beliefs. This position of exclusiveness is what got Christians in trouble in the beginning and so it is now.
Of course Ann is a powder keg and some would argue a loose cannon, and there are times when she has been out of line and made me cringe. Fact is that I’ve never read her books, nor listen to her much, but it’s a free country.
But this isn’t one of those times. She is right, and the transcript shows that even attempted to clarify it but Deutsch wasn’t interested in that, neither are those who are making such a big deal out of it now.
But not to make the comparison to close let’s remember - that is those who actually read the Bible - that in his day they - the Jews referred to Jesus as an out of control radical, rabble rouser, drunk and illegitimate, a liar, etc, so if Ann gets in trouble by telling someone to the Gospel then she is in good company.
They of course were wrong.
This isn’t the first time Deutsch set a conservative up to make them look foolish, but in this case he got the Gospel preached to him, and that message is true no matter who utters the words.
If I were him, I’d weigh what was said, carefully.
