Eggheads and Africa Americans is all that Obama has for now

By now you’ve seen this exchange between Paul Begala and Donna Brazile.

With Obama all set to win the nomination - although I’m not as sold on that as most because Hillary ins’t giving up - he will not be a shew-in for the Presidency.

As I said on The MacRanger Show, the issue of race and gender is the primary albatross around a democrat party that HAS to win the White House or else face being banished to the political wasteland for the next 20 years.

Many democrats that I know here in the liberal heart of South Florida are extremely nervous over what has happened to the “movement” over the primary season. Specifically they are extremely concerned about Barack Obama’s ability to actually win the election. It’s one thing to have big crowds and get them excited over “change” and “hope”. It’s an entirely different thing to actually get them to the poll.

Add to this my previous point that Obama has yet to secure the white vote (the majority vote) in any of his contests, and it’s unlikely that will change even if Hillary drops out. Again, remember that about 28 percent of her supporters have said they would vote for McCain rather than Obama and those statistics were gathered before the Wright storm.

Which is why I’m extremely confident in our chances of keeping the GOP at this point.
