09:35 - Addiction to Oil, new forms of power, battery research. Ethanol, wood chips, grass……lions tigers and bears….reduce gas usage by 20 percent in the next ten years. Hint: ANWAR!!
09:40 - Up and down on judicial picks, Harry Reid with a “Dream on” look on his face. Tell me elections aren’t important, thanks America, you got hoodwinked.
09:41 - On to National Security now. Recaps successes in the war on terror, recounts foiled (by Brits) plot to blow up planes over atlantic. “Evil is still at work in the world”. The causes for terrorism started long before 9/11. This is a good move, the threat is still real. Quotes now worm food Zarqwai and Bin Laden.
09:44 - “Use every tool possible to protect the American people” Hint, Domestic Survelliance IS necessary to keep us safe.
09:45 - Recounts problems in Lebanon, Afghanistan, point: The enemy has taken hits, but the war is fluid an continuing.
09:46 - On to Iraq. Talks first that Iraqi govenment isn’t up to the task, deployment of more troops is needed. “We didn’t drive Al Qaeda out of Afghanistan to have them re-seat in Iraq”.

He’s hitting home on Iraq though. Without the surge Iraq fails and we lose. America loses and all the sacrifices of our men and women in uniform would be for nothing. Democrats might to back off at this point. President hits it out of the park with, “We all voted yes and we didn’t vote for failure”. He’s asking for a chance to let this new move to succeed. Brilliant. Democrats and RINO repubs like cut and run Hagel will look like quitters after this.

09:51 - Need to increase over all Armed Forces to meet the need of world wide terrorism.
09:54 - Iran. Cannot be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons.
09:55 - AIDS funding increases. This is the most unsung success of President Bush, as funding for world wide AIDS research has far eclipsed all other administrations before it.
10:00 - Tradional recognition of heros both military and domestic, showing that we produce the best of the best and the reason why America is a decent and honorable country.

UPDATE: I didn’t forget Jim Webb’s “rebuttal”, but Drudge posted it and it’s both unncessary and typical of the Democratic shrilling we’ve all heard since the beginning of the war. To call the Commander and Chief “Reckless” while units are in combat is both disgraceful and disloyal to the uniform we wear. I don’t care what you or your daddy did, Benedict Arnold was a hero, before he became a traitor.

And this “The majority of our military…” being against the war, reference for that remark Webb? Who did you survey, the brig?
