You can tell that the Bush/McCain deal is a win for Bush’s efforts at protecting the Country. Just read the news stories in the NY Times, who calls it a ” A Bad Bargin“¬† and Washington Post whines “The abuse can continue“, along a perusal of the left wing blog sites like this one,¬† tells you who won this battle.

Don’t mess with the Crawford Kid!¬† Not only did Bush win this battle, but Democrats continue to look weak on national defense and yes, more friendly to the interests of terrorists and despots of the world than to the interests of the American people.

Democrats are having skitzoid attacks with Rangel giving his “Back off Bush Chavez” speech, and then Senator Tom Harkin’s “understanding” that Chavez should be upset, after all according to Harkin and the rest of the left - “Bush sucks!”.¬† It’s been a lousy couple of weeks to be a Democrat.
But what about “The Deal”?¬† Give and take.¬† NRO’s Byron York has a good breakdown. Simply put, our guys and gals get to keep extracting information from terrorist suspects and don’t have to worry that they will have to read Miranda Rights beforehand, or get sued afterwards.

The more interesting question is what will Democrats do now?
